What does the internet have to do with a job search?
With mainstreaming of computers and internet technology, it is possible to find valuable job postings online.
Organization web sites - If you know a specific hospital, firm or school where you wish to work, you can click on the employment/careers section of the employer web site to find a listing of available jobs. You may have the option to apply online, submit your resume, or obtain contact information for sending your resume via regular mail.
If you do not know the web site for a particular employer, you can go to a search database (e.g. yahoo.com) and type in the organization name to find the web address.
Job search engines - On these sites, you can type in a job title or keyword and you will be given a listing of applicable openings. By clicking on an opening you may be directed to a specific employer web site or be given contact information to send your resume (e.g. monster.com).
